We are so glad you've chosen Ablaze Photography to document your story! Here you will find answers to commonly asked questions as well as resources to help guide you through our process.
The timeline:
I.
Consultation
Once you have completed your booking we well schedule a consultation, this can be in person or over the phone. During your consultation we will discuss what your intentions are for your images and stylization of your session.
Stylization includes going over colors, wardrobe, hair and make up, poses, props and location. Together we will design the session you're dreaming of.
II.
The Session
You will have received preparation Instructions to guide you through how to prepare for you session.
On your session day, you will get to truly enjoy this magical experience as I lead you through.
For a Maternity or Family Session, I will pose you through the entire process. You can be rest assured that this part is as easy and enjoyable as the rest!
For your Newborn Session, I will lead you through parent shots. During babies turn you may relax in our client lounge and enjoy a beverage and snack. Some parents choose to use the WIFI to catch up on Social Media, some choose to read a book and some just like to sit and watch as I photograph their precious new baby.
III.
Gallery Viewing
THIS WILL BE YOUR FAVORITE PART! The day after your session, I will reach out to schedule your Viewing & Ordering appointment.
We can schedule to meet in your home, in our studio or online in a zoom meet. During your ordering appointment I can help guide you through what images would best fill your walls, as well as what to order for family and friends.

This is the day we will be selecting what images you'd like to purchase, so it's best to have all decision makers present for the viewing.
IV.
Image Delivery
This is the day you get to see all of your beautiful artwork in PRINT! (or digital, but I definitely recommend print!)
All of what we've done so far has led up to this moment, THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART! Approximately 2-3 weeks following your viewing appointment, your products will be ready for you. I will deliver them right to your door ready to hang on your walls or sit on your coffee table.

What is the best age to photograph my new baby?
I prefer to photograph newborns between 5-12 days of age, when they are still in that super, sleepy, squishy, curly stage. This is not to say that we can't photograph your baby a bit older, but the ultimate time is in the first week.
Do you have a studio?
Do you have all the props?
Yes! I have everything you see on my website and loads more. My studio has a glamorous collection of high quality, hand made headbands, bonnets, outfit and wraps. I am consistently updating and purchasing new goodies! Your baby's session will be fully styled based on your color preferences, all you have to bring is the baby!
Do you offer sessions on the weekends?
Yes, my Newborn Photography Studio is open by appointment Monday - Sunday 9:00-5:00
How far in advance should I book?
It's best to book your session whilst your still pregnant, usually after 20 weeks gestation.
What if my baby comes early or after my due date?
By booking your session with Ablaze Photography, (paying your deposit) your new baby has priority on my schedule. That means if your baby comes early or late your baby is guaranteed a spot on my calendar. My Newborn Sessions a limited each month to accommodate the various arrival dates.
My baby is already here! Can I still do a Newborn Session?
Occasionally I do have last minute availability. Please inquire if your baby is a bit older as this may determine if your wanting a newborn or baby session.
