The outfits you choose to wear when capturing those beautiful freeze-frame moments should always reflect your style as a family— however, certain colors, textures, and styles can play a huge part in the way your photos turn out on camera! It’s my job to help your family look the absolute BEST for your session!

What colors should you wear for your Family Session?

All warm tones! Here are some great examples of warm color pallets for your Family Session.

Coordinate by mixing patterns/prints and solids/textures! (STAY AWAY from matching matching!) This will add texture and dimension in your photos! Having matching outfits will not!

Also, if going with a solid color try to find something with some sort of texture/character instead of something super plain! The more texture and character, the better it will photograph! Long dresses and maxi skirts are amazing!I wouldn’t do short dresses due to limit of movement! You can move freely in the maxi dress(we’ll be doing a lot of movement etc!), they’re also very flattering, and they add movement, which is what we want!

Accessorizing your look

Layering and accessories are great and add SO MUCH texture! Especially when going up into close up shots! So adding cardigans, knee high socks for girls with shorter dresses and always add bloomers underneath short dresses or skirts for little girls, suspenders for boys, cute brim hats(like in all the inspirations I have posted, you can look on Pinterest too!), etc. For jewelry, rings and bracelets are great, especially gold or if they have color – I would stay away from plain silver! They add small details to hands! (side note: don’t forget to cut you kids nails if needed and take off chipped polish)!
